Soilse Annual Review for 2014
On June 26th UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Soilse, the Irish RECOVEU partner launched its Annual Review for 2014 (see recoveu.org). The report outlines the main activities undertaken by the project in 2014. In particular the project placed a high emphasis on recovery activities which showed a momentum for many service users to detoxification, go to residential treatment, get drug free, become socially included in the mainstream and improve educationally. The biggest problem Soilse had in 2014 was accessing housing. In Ireland due to austerity and cutbacks there is a housing crisis and it is particularly difficult for recovering drug addicts to access affordable decent accommodation. The report also documents its activities in the RECOVEU project and outlines its plan for 2015. It is circulated to stakeholders in the statutory, community and voluntary sector, researchers and policy makers.
